This spectacular UNESCO protected site will not fail to take your breath away, especially from the top of Ras Dashen, Ethiopia's, highest point at 4543m above sea level. Be awestruck in the landscape's every direction, from the deep valleys to the jagged mountain peaks. Once again, wildlife lovers will get a thrill from Ethiopia's animal range: over 20 large mammal species and over 130 bird species reside in the park. Amongst these, you can spot the gelada baboon, the carcal (large cat), and the three metre wing-spanned lammergeier (bearded vulture). Endangered species can also be found, including the Ethiopian wolf and the Walia Ibex, a wild goat found nowhere else in the world. Some say the Simien Mountains are the rival of Colorado's Grand Canyon; the only way to find out is to see them for yourself.
2 days itinerary
Day 1 Gondar-Sankaber
4-5 hours After driving for approximately 2 &1/2 hours you will take coffee while picking up your guide, scouts and cooks from Debark which is the base town for trekking in the mountains. After arriving in Chinkualit you start your trek onwards.
Day 2 Sankaber-Jinbar waterfalls-Gondar
4-5 hours After breakfast you will trek to jinbar waterfalls and few more hours’ further .Your driver will pick you after lunch and you will be transferred to Gondar.
