The Salkantay trek to Machupicchu is an alternative to the Inca Trail and considered by most to be the best alternative route (and maybe even better!). Day 1 Cusco - Molepaata - Soraypampa (Humantay Lake)

Maximum Altitude: 4650 meters asl / 15255 feet asl

Day 5 Machupicchu - Huaynapicchu
