Experience an amazing natural event in Mexico: the Monarch Butterfly migration. These butterflies have made a long journey to escape the harsh winters in the USA and Canada.
Go to the Piedra Herrada Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, one of the most important monarch reserves in the world. Going on a hike in this fantastic and magic place is a unique opportunity.
You will also visit beautiful colonial towns, such as Valle de Bravo in the state of Mexico.
Day 1 Mexico City
Arrival at Mexico City airport. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Mexico City - Best Western Hotel Majestic or similar.
Day 2 Mexico City - Valle de Bravo
Visit the Anthropology Museum, one of the world’s finest archaeological museums. Visit the magical town of Valle de Bravo, which is surrounded by mountains and considered as the most important tourist destination.
Overnight in Valle de Bravo - Hotel Mesón de las Leyendas or similar.
Day 3 Piedra Herrada Sanctuary - Valle de Bravo
Visit the Piedra Herrada Sanctuary, the newest spot opened for viewing the monarchs. Horses take us most of the way and this area is wilder than the other sanctuaries.
Overnight in Valle de Bravo - Hotel Mesón de las Leyendas or similar.
Day 4 Capulin Sanctuary - Valle de Bravo
Visit the Capulin Sanctuary and watch the largest and most beautiful prairie of the Monarch region called Los Tres Governadores (The Three Governors).
Overnight in Valle de Bravo - Hotel Mesón de las Leyendas or similar.
Day 5 Valle de Bravo
Free day in Valle de Bravo with a number of activities to choose from (boating, sailing, water-skiing, kayaking, hang gliding or bicycle).
Overnight in Valle de Bravo - Hotel Mesón de las Leyendas or similar.
Day 6 Mexico City
Free time in the morning and back to Mexico City.
Overnight in Mexico City - Best Western Hotel Majestic or similar.
Day 7 Departure
Departure. Transfer to Mexico City airport for your flight back home.

Clemente could not have been more helpful, fun, knowledgeable, easy to understand and all in all was the highlight of our trip making this adventure so enjoyable! The Majestic hotel location was great but the rooms and food was disappointing .. clean but dated, english by hotel folks was marginal, service people friendly and prompt, room at end of the trip was more comfortable then room at beginning on the 6th floor. Claudio, the driver did a wonderful job making the drive safe, and he was an added plus. The hotel in Valle de Bravo was charming and the indigenous people made it even more enjoyable. Cladia, the manager, and her assistant, Evelyn, was wonderful and helpful to all participants. Both spoke excellent english and were always looking to make everyone comfortable. Even the chef, who also spoke excellent english was always looking to please.
