The sound and light show in the Mayan pyramids of the pre-Columbian city of Izamal is an unforgettable experience. Enjoy it as you go back to time immemorial!
At 1:00 pm you will be picked up from your hotel in Mérida, heading to the day's destination: Izamal.
When you arrive at what is known as the “yellow city”, you will take a guided tour of the most emblematic places of Izamal. One of its major tourist attractions is the former convent of San Antonio de Padua, a symbol of this magical town, in the vicinity of which there are colored letters with the name of the municipality.
Next, you will go to the archaeological complex, where you will tour the remains of the Kinich Kak Moo pyramid, which pays homage to the Mayan god of the sun, stretches over more than 8,000 square meters and has 10 levels. You will also see the Itzamatul pyramid, which is the second most important in Izamal and in whose surroundings you can still enjoy Mayan traditions and the life of the locals.
Enjoy a delicious dinner by your own, in the typical restaurant "Kinich". And you will have time to go shopping. Finally, you will enjoy a beautiful ending: the sound and light show. At the end of the show, you will return to Mérida, where you will be dropped off again at your hotel.
