Catemaco And Los Tuxtlas Tour From Veracruz 12 hours

  • Shared tour
  • Family friendly

If you’re visiting Veracruz, you can’t leave without exploring the Los Tuxtlas region—full of mysticism and natural beauty. We’re sure you’ll love this tour! Start by seeing the largest Olmec head in southern Veracruz, located in Santiago Tuxtla. Next, we’ll enjoy the stunning view of "El Salto de Eyipantla" waterfall, a breathtaking 50-meter cascade nestled in the jungle, and one of the most beautiful spots in Veracruz.

To finish our tour, we’ll head to Catemaco, home of the Enchanted Lagoon. Here, we’ll board a boat to visit Monkey Island, where we’ll get a close look at friendly spider and macaque monkeys. We’ll also visit Heron Island and other small islands scattered across the lagoon. After the boat ride, we’ll give you time to enjoy the delicious local cuisine of Catemaco.

We’ll begin by picking up passengers at their hotels. As we head toward Los Tuxtlas, enjoy panoramic views of stunning natural landscapes from a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle with reclining seats. Our first stop will be the center of Santiago Tuxtla, where you’ll see the largest Olmec head in southern Veracruz and appreciate the historic Santiago Apóstol Parish, built in 1890.

Next, we’ll take in the view of “El Salto de Eyipantla” waterfall in San Andrés Tuxtla—a magnificent 50-meter cascade in a jungle setting, and truly one of the most beautiful places in Veracruz. To end our tour, we’ll head to Catemaco, home of the Enchanted Lagoon, where we’ll take a boat ride to enjoy a panoramic view of Spider Monkey Island, home to the region’s native spider monkeys and macaques, as well as other must-see spots around the lagoon.

After the boat tour, you’ll have the chance to enjoy Catemaco’s delicious local cuisine at one of the area’s most famous restaurants (meals not included). We’ll depart around 6:00 pm, giving you a chance to relax or take a nap on the way back. Your tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
