Kandy, byname Maha Nuwara (“Great City”), it is the Capital of the Central Province. It lies on the Mahaweli River on the shore of an artificial lake that was constructed (1807) by the last Kandyan king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinha. Kandy known as a pilgrimage destination for the Temple of the Tooth Relic a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhala kings for more than 2,500 years until the occupation of Sri Lanka by the British in 1815. The Kandy city is full of history, culture and unique personality. The city is surrounded by some majestic mountains and it attractive touring destinations for the travelers, who want to enjoy the natural beauty of this Island along with exploring the rich and colorful culture.
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is located in the village Pinnawala northwest of the town of Kegalle, halfway to the ancient royal residence Kandy. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife Department in a 25-acre coconut property adjoining the Maha Oya River. The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection to the many orphaned Elephants found in the jungles of Sri Lanka. The aim of the orphanage is to simulate a natural habitat to these elephants. The elephants are taken to the river twice a day for a bath, and all the babies less than three years of age are still bottle fed by the mahouts and volunteers.

Adam's Peak is a conical peak in central Sri Lanka that stands at 2,243 meters. It's famous for the Sri Pada. Hiking Season Official Sri Pada season begins in December and ends in April. This is the period of best weather. There are few entrances to start your hike to Sri Pada. Kuruwita - Erathna route, Hatton-Nallathanni route and Rathnapura - Palabathgala route. Erathna trail to Sri Pada is the third most popular trail leading to Adam's Peak. This trail is much difficult to tackle than the most popular Hatton-Nallathanni route.
Hatton is the most popular route, with 80% of locals and more over 99 % of foreigners taking it. It is estimated to be a 6-7-kilometer ascent. This route is well-developed, with strong stairwells and rails, a variety of stores, and clean restrooms. Hints people taking the Hatton Track: wear GOOD shoes (which can withstand stress - you do not want them broken) and cloths for weatherproof. Phones will be useless more or less on your entire journey.

At 2,000 meters above sea level, Nuwara Eliya, is located at a distance of 180km into the central highlands from the capital city of Colombo in the western coast. It is the tea capital of Central Highlands, is the prime tea growing district of Sri Lanka. As well as this is one of leisure destinations in Sri Lanka. It is also home to some beautiful waterfalls such as Ramboda Falls, Devon Falls, and Laksapana Falls. Nuwara Eliya has an average temperature of 16 degrees and sometimes can decrease to extreme conditions such as 3 degrees due to the high altitudes.

Udawalawe features meadows and is one of Sri Lanka's wildlife sanctuaries. Many wild creatures, birds, and reptiles call Udawalawe National Park home. Udawalawe National Park, which spans over thirty thousand hectares and offers a variety of activities, you can go on open safaris and trek in a few regions. The best season to visit Udawalawa national park is October to April. This period can be the best time of year to view elephants and migratory birds. The best time to visit Unawatuna is between October and April, when the temperature remains reasonable and the surroundings encourage sightseeing and transfers from place to place with people visiting the area for a few days of relaxation. You can go to Talpe, a small town with breathtaking beach views, Jungle Beach, which is located between Unawatuna and Galle, Unawatuna beach, Peace Pagoda, which is located atop the Galle fort, Rumassala South beach, which is near the Galle-Matara main road, Sea Turtle Hatchery, which is located in Habaraduwa, and Mihiripenna beach, which is the most famous on the island.
Galle is a precious gem. This historic city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a joy to stroll through, an eternally interesting old trading port brimming with majestic Dutch-colonial structures, ancient mosques and cathedrals, grand houses, and museums. You'll pass beautiful cafes, intriguing stores, and immaculately restored hotels owned by local and international artists, writers, photographers, and designers as you wander its wandering pathways.
