Karen Blixen's home lies at the foot of Ngong Hills and is now preserved as a museum. A visit here will expose you to the furniture, artefacts and photographs from her days as a pioneer coffee farmer. Soon after, we drive you to the giraffe centre, where families of the rare Rothschild giraffe can be hand-fed and photographed from a platform at the giraffe's eye level.

Visit two of Nairobi's most must-see attractions during this small-group, half-day tour to the Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Center. Tour the private home of the celebrated Out of Africa author before learning about local conservation efforts to protect endangered giraffes.

10:00 am: Pick up from your residence hotel or airport and commence your adventure by heading to the Karen Blixen Museum. Follow in the footsteps of Karen Blixen as you travel towards the Ngong Hills, you feel swept immediately onto the film set of Out of Africa the moment you arrive. The old colonial farmhouse is simple, housing a few items that Karen Blixen chose and once enjoyed herself. There are also colourful gardens to explore, where several old coffee machines have laid untouched for decades. Delve into the life and work of Karen Blixen, as her former home showcases preserved household items and celebrates her literary contributions. Take a guided tour of the museum and gain insights into the captivating history of this remarkable writer.

Noon: Enjoy a sumptuous lunch and coffee at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden. Relish an array of flavours and satisfy your appetite with a delicious meal.

1:00 pm: Proceed to the Giraffe Center, located just 30 minutes away from the city centre. The Giraffe Centre is the creation of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya), a Kenyan non-profit organization. Their main purpose is to educate Kenyan school children and youth on their country's wildlife and environment, as well as give local and international visitors an opportunity with the world's tallest species, the giraffe. Discover the conservation efforts of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife and learn about the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Get up close and personal with these gentle giants as you feed and touch them. Gain a deeper understanding of their habitat, behaviour, and the importance of protecting this endangered species.

3:00 pm: Conclude our excursion and embark on the return journey to your residence or hotel, filled with unforgettable memories of the day.
