From Merida: Discovery Progreso And Xcambo 6 hours

  • Shared tour

A splendid natural showcase that combines peaceful beaches at the Port of Progreso with a visit to an archaeological site. You will also visit a salt production centre from the Preclassic period, and if we’re lucky, we’ll see flamingos.

A splendid natural showcase that combines peaceful beaches with an archaeological site, it was strongly influenced by the Mayan cities of Izamal and Tho’ (now Mérida). It has been a centre for salt production since the Late Preclassic Period (100 BC—250 AD).

It is a perfect fusion with the Xcambo archaeological site, located by salt ponds where, if we’re lucky, we might spot some flamingos around us. We will arrive at the Xcambo archaeological site and then visit the beautiful Port of Progreso, where you can sunbathe, swim, and enjoy the stunning sea view during some free time.
