Although still a bit unknown, Bulgaria is becoming more and more popular - for 2018 we have marked up a 100% growth in the number of travelers who visited our country.

And while Plovdiv, Sofia, Veliko Turnovo and Nesebar are the highlights for groups, Belogradchik Rocks stand off and are remarkable for their beauty and history! In Bulgaria we have about 6000 caves and the Venetsa Cave is one of them.

You will be picked-up at 8 o'clock from your place of accommodation and we'll take a picturesque drive across the Balkan range mountain. After taking a short break half-way through we'll continue and around 11.30 am we will be at the entrance of Venetsa cave - a real serious cave where good shoes, a little bit of courage and normally fit muscles are needed. Our visit there will last for an hour so at around 1.15 pm we will be on the road for a short drive to Belogradchik - a little town nested in a valley just next to the Belogradchik Rocks and the fortress incorporated there.

Being once upon a time on a major commercial route Belogradchik had to be properly fortified and the oldest ruins remaining there date from the time of the Roman Empire.

We will take about an hour walk up some steep ladders so take this into account before booking the tour. Yet, oh, it is such a view from up there - revealing almost the whole 30km-long plateu with so many figures shaped by the nature! You will learn about Bulgarian history and the Ottoman empire domination, some uprisings, the legend of Stoino, we'll see the "First kiss", "Adam and Eve", "Rebel Velko" and my favourite "The gorilla" rock formations.

Of course, there is time for lunch planned, so may be before visiting the fort we can have some nice meals at the best restaurant in town!

Our drive back is planned to start around 4.30 pm, so that you are back to Sofia in time for your evening at around 7.30pm.
