One of the most awe-inspiring sections of a trek across Jordan, this route was recently named by National Geographic as one of the fifteen best hikes in the world.

The trail drops from the heights of the mountain plateaus to the Araba Valley and climbs back again, crossing several climate zones, diverse ecosystems hidden in canyons, and dramatic labyrinths of hills and valleys displaying the full spectrum of the region's geology.

Day 1: Amman airport - Dead Sea, overnight

Meet and assist you with a Jordan visa upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport and then, meet our driver, who will transfer you to the Dead Sea for an overnight.

Day 2: Dead Sea - Dana - Feynan (Trekking: 7 - 8 hours; 18KM)

Breakfast in the hotel, check out and then with our drive, we drive along the desert highway to Dana Village. Here we will start the day trekking from Dana Nature Reserve - one of Jordan's loveliest conservation and wilderness areas - to Feynan Canyon. This spectacular downhill trek winds through the sandstone gorge of Wadi Dana. Along the way, you will likely encounter the local Bedouin herding their sheep and goats. Dinner and overnight at mobile camp in Feynan

Day 3: Feynan - Barwas (Trekking: 4 -5 hours; 12KM; Altitude: mostly level)

In the morning after breakfast, start trekking through the stony desert with spectacular views of the high mountain ranges to the east and the vast Wadi Araba desert to the west. In the afternoon, head further towards the foot of the mountains. Dinner and overnight at mobile camp in Barwas Area

Day 4: Barwas - Ras El Feid (Trekking: 7 - 8 hours; 15KM; Altitude: (700m (2300 ft) ascent, 250m (820 ft) descent)

After breakfast, we set off leaving the stony "Hamada" desert behind us. We continue our trek and walk around the foot of the mountain to reach the trailhead of an ancient Bedouin migration path that ascends steeply across rocks and small boulders through a twisty track rising high into the mountain. This section can be challenging and takes around 3 hours. The route offers stunning views westwards towards the fascinating Wadi Araba desert. We eventually reach the top of a high saddle which has some of the most beautiful scenery of the trek before descending following a small goat track to the river valley of Wadi Feid. Here we have a well-deserved opportunity to refresh and cool down in its cool water, a perfect place for lunch. We then continue our trek, walking upstream and manoeuvring around a beautiful dense garden of oleander, willow, tamarisk and reed. Beyond this, we walk along a dry river bed surrounded with colourful sandstone outcrops to reach our camping spot where our crew will be waiting for us with Bedouin tea and after a wash and rest, a Bedouin-style evening meal. Dinner and overnight mobile camping

Day 5: Ras El Feid - Shkaret Msei'd - Little Petra, overnight camping

With an early rise and breakfast, we continue trekking from Ras El Feid towards Shkaret Msaied and take you by car to Little Petra for dinner and overnight camping in Bedouin camp in Little Petra.

Day 6: Little Petra - back-way to the Monastery, Petra

With an early rise and breakfast, we start the trekking day to discover Petra city from its secret way via Little Petra and over the hills and mountains until we meet the Monastery after around 2 hours trekking with our Bedouin guide, have a little rest over there... and then we walk the steps down to continue exploring the rest of the site until afternoon, back to the main gate, meet our driver and transfer you to Amman for overnight

Day 7: Amman - Amman airport

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for departure with farewell
