Trade the city for the desert on this overnight adventure from Cairo to Saint Catherine, deep in South Sinai. Set off by private air-conditioned vehicle for the journey south, arriving in time for a guided night hike up Mount Sinai — the mountain where tradition holds Moses received the Ten Commandments. Reach the summit before dawn to watch the sunrise break over the Sinai desert, then descend to explore Saint Catherine's Monastery, one of the oldest continuously operating monasteries on earth, including its historic church and the Burning Bush site. A private guide and vehicle accompany you throughout before the comfortable return transfer to Cairo.
Day 1: Cairo-St. Catherine Monastery
We will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you from Cairo at 03:00 pm by an air-conditioned vehicle heading toward South Sinai. Arrival in Saint Catherine in the afternoon around 10:00 pm, then at around 10:30 pm start the night climbing Mount Sinai (Gebel Musa), traditionally believed to be the mountain where Prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments. You will start the hike during the night accompanied by a local guide.
Day 2: Sunrise, Monastery Visit, and Return to Cairo
At dawn, guests will enjoy the breathtaking sunrise from the summit of Mount Sinai. Afterwards, the group will descend the mountain in the early morning. Following the descent, the group will proceed to visit Saint Catherine's Monastery, one of the oldest working monasteries in the world. The visit includes the historic church, the Burning Bush site, and the monastery courtyard. Transfer back to Cairo in an AC vehicle.
