3 Days Boat Safari in Okavango Delta 3 days

  • Private tour

Venture through Okavango Delta to Chief’s Island (70 kilometers long and 15 kilometers wide), which is named because it was once the sole hunting preserve of the local chief. Raised above the water level by tectonic activity, it is here that so much of the delta’s wildlife retreats as water levels rise. As such, the island is home to what could be the richest concentration of wildlife in Botswana. It is the Okavango Delta as you always imagined it.

Main wildlife to be viewed: Birds, wildlife such as hippo, crocodile, elephant, zebra, lion, buffalo, impala.

Children policy: Children under 12 years old are charged half price

Vaccines required: Several vaccines are sensible (typhoid, polio, and tetanus), though none are required. Anti-malarial tablets are usually recommended. Always check the latest recommendations with your doctor or clinic before traveling.

Day 1 Maun to Okavango Delta

Depart Maun around 9:00 in the morning to Chiefs Island. Upon arrival, the staff will set up your camp and you can relax around camp with your good book and pair of binoculars. A professional guide will decide when to get ready for a sunset cruise depending on the time and then dinner will be prepared and served by a well-trained chef in the evening after sunset boat cruise.

Day 2 Okavango Delta

Wake up in the morning with tea / coffee before going for a boat ride to experience the combination of reed-fringed waters, grasslands and light woodlands. They make for game viewing that can feel like a BBC wildlife documentary brought to life. Not surprisingly, the island is home to some of the most animals and birds. Return back to the camp where dinner is served, you will rest for about two hours before sunset cruise.

Day 3 Okavango Delta to Maun

In the morning, you will have breakfast. While the staff takes down the camp, you will board a boat to Maun. Upon arrival, a game drive vehicle will pick you from boat station to the hotel or Maun Airport (MUB).
