Set off from Brasov with a mountain guide for a customised hike in the dramatic Piatra Craiului massif, taking routes to Zarnesti Gorge or Spirlea Refuge for sweeping ridge views and limestone cliffs. After the trek, meet a ranger and slip into a secluded forest hide to watch wild Eurasian brown bears wander in at dusk, just metres away—an unforgettable blend of alpine scenery and raw wildlife.
Enjoy a full day trip from Brasov to Piatra Craiului, one of the most challenging massifs in Romania and continue with a bear watching experience.
In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Brasov. After a short transfer to Zarnesti, you will reach the starting point. You can continue to Zarnesti Gorge or Spirlea Refuge. The trail will be adjusted according to the participant's fitness level.
After a 30-minute drive, you will arrive at the meeting point with the forest ranger. Once arrived at the bear hide, wait quietly until the bears arrive at the site and feel free to take photos or videos of them.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask your guide; he would gladly explain interesting facts about the wildlife in Romania. Just before darkness falls, you will go back to the car, and your guide will drop you off at your accommodation in Brasov.
