Set off from Brașov for a volcanic day out: wander the rare Mohos peat bog with its carnivorous plants, gaze over St Anna Lake — Romania’s only crater lake — and feel the sulphur steam at Puturosu Cave. After a lunch break (own account), head deep into the forest with a ranger for close, safe viewing of Eurasian brown bears from a ground-level hide just metres away, golden-hour photos and a dusk return round off a thrilling nature-first tour.
Embark on an unforgettable adventure and discover the stunning natural wonders of the Land of Volcanoes, located just 80 kilometres away from Brasov. You'll explore the unique Mohos peat bog with its carnivorous and hallucinogenic plant species, as well as the breathtaking St. Anna lake, the only crater lake in Romania.
After a short hike to the magnificent Puturosu Cave, where you can witness the biggest natural gas bath in Europe, take a break for lunch (not included). The real highlight of the day comes in the afternoon, as you journey deep into the forest with an experienced ranger to observe the majestic Eurasian brown bears in their natural habitat. From a specially built bear hide, just a few meters away from the bears, you can safely take photos.
As darkness falls, you'll return to the car and be driven back to Brasov, reflecting on a day full of thrilling experiences and unforgettable memories.
