Arrive Chennai & explore the colonial town, fort & churches. Then proceed to Mahabalipuram, known for its temples and monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries, via Kanchipuram, the city of thousands of temples. Walk in the streets of the French colony in Pondicherry and then proceed to visit the Great Living Chola Temples at Darasuram, Gangaikonda Cholapuram & Thanjavur. Then visit the two largest and active temples in India at Trichy & Madurai. Enter the lush green Kerala hills, Munnar, a Tea Estate, then to Alleppey, a Backwater resort. The tour will end in Cochin, the coastal gateway city connected with international flights.
Day 1 Arrive Chennai
Arrival at Chennai airport, assistance & transfer to the hotel. Later visit Fort St. George, St Mary Church inside the fortress, Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Vadapalani Murugan Temple, Government Museum, Dakshinachitra Museum, Santhome Cathedral & Marina Beach.

Day 2 Chennai - Mahabalipuram (120kms)
Drive to Mahabalipuram via visiting Kanchipuram, an ancient city famous as the city of a thousand temples. Arrive at Mahabalipuram, check in at the hotel. Later visit Monolithic Temples, Five Rathas, Krishnas Butterball, Cave Temples, Shore Temple & The Arjuna Penance.

Day 3 Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (120kms)
Drive to Pondicherry, check in at the hotel. Later, Visit Auroville & Pondicherry Museum. Drive past or walk through the stunning French Quarters, which include the French consulate, Raj Nivas, Government Square, Churches & French schools.

Day 4 Pondicherry - Thanjavur (180kms)
Drive to Thanjavur via visiting Chidambaram Nataraja Temple and The Great Living Chola Temples at Gangaikonda Cholapuram & Darasuram. Arrive at Thanjavur, check in at the hotel.

Day 5 Thanjavur - Chettinad (140kms)
Visit Brihadeshwara Temple & Palace Complex, built by a great Chola king in the 10th century. Later drive to Chettinad via visiting Trichy Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Rock Fort Temple & Jambukeshwara temple. Arrive at Chettinad, check in at the hotel.

Day 6 Chettinad - Madurai (90kms)
Visit a few 19th-century mansions, whose wide courtyards and spacious rooms are embellished with marble and teak. Drive to Madurai, check in at the hotel. Later visit Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Nayakar Palace, Alagar Koil, Tiruparankundram Murugan Temple & Palamuthirsolai Murugan Temple.

Day 7 Madurai - Munnar (160kms)
Drive to Munnar, check in at the hotel. Later visit Pothamedu, Mattupetty dam, Rajamala hill, Eravikulam National Park, Mattupedi Dairy Farm, Echo Point & Tea Museum.

Day 8 Munnar - Alleppey (165kms)
Transfer to Alleppey boat jetty to board a houseboat and sail through the tropical countryside, enchanting backwaters.

Disembark from the houseboat and drive to Cochin, check in at the hotel. Later visit Fort Cochin, St. Frances Church, Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Dutch Palace & Chinese fishing nets. Evening Kathakali Dance show.
