Mikumi National Park is well famous for big mammals like Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalo and other preys animals such as zebras, antelopes, wildbeast, hippos and others but you won't miss seeing predators like Lions and lioness full pride, leopard, jackals and crocodiles.
Tourism in the Udzungwa Mountains National Park revolves around hiking and trekking, as the park has no roads and is accessible only on foot. The hiking trails range in difficulty from the short one-hour Sonjo trek to the extremely challenging 6-day camping trek the Lumemo Trail. We will only take the most common walk is the Sanje Waterfalls trail which takes approximately four hours to complete and allows the visitor access to the stunning 170 m waterfall and includes swimming in the waterfall plunge pools as part of the activity.
Day 1 Dar-es-Salaam - Morogoro - Mikumi National Park
On this day you will be picked from the hotel/ airport in Dar-es-Salaam to start your transfer to Mikumi National Park in the state of Morogoro. It's about 4 to 5 hours to Morogoro depends on traffic. Lunch at Morogoro town.
Morogoro town to Mikumi National Park is about 107km, straight to the hotel, since the road is passing between the park dividing it into 2 parts you will see some animals eating grasses such as Giraffe, Antelopes, Zebras, wildbeast, warthog etc. Lunch & dinner
Overnighrt Camp Bastian
Day 2 Full game drive
Earl in the morning you will leave for sunrise game drive before breakfast then will go to the restaurant for breakfast (within the Park/ Mikumi wildlife restaurant).
Then continue with game until 13:00 will go to the restaurant for lunch and rest waiting for sunset.
At 15:00 at least won't be that sunny, so will continue with game exploring more many animals in the park.
Until 17:00 check out and return back to the campsite.
Dinner at 19:00
Day 3 Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast around 5:00 we will start safari to Udzungwa which is located southwest of Mikumi National Park.
Around 8:30 we will reach there, registration always takes 15 to 20 minutes.
Knowledgeable guide will make your hicking unforgettable, they will answer all your questions and tell you all the stories of the mountain and everything about them, then the hiking will end at Sanje waterfalls, there you will swim and enjoy the fress air.
At 12:00 will start returning back to Dar es salaam to your hotel or airport.
