Your Ourika Valley day trip begins with a 9:00 am pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech with a friendly, professional driver-guide. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and green valleys. Along the way, visit a local market (on Mondays), an argan oil cooperative, and enjoy photo stops or a short walk through the village.
In Setti Fatma, you can choose a guided hike to the waterfalls (for active guests) or relax at a café with mountain views. Enjoy lunch at a riverside restaurant before returning to Marrakech, with drop-off around 5:00 pm.
Your Ourika day trip starts with a morning pickup from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech at 9 am, accompanied by a friendly and professional driver/guide throughout the trip. Take a drive to Ourika Valley, where the din of the city is nearly a distant memory. Travelling through the High Atlas, it is rather smooth initially, with the first signs of the rising mountains; Berber clay houses lining the rising slopes and green valleys with peaks in the distance.
The Ourika Valley is a mix of nature and small typical villages where tourists will vouch for the presence of the Mediterranean Tamazight cultural influence starting with Tnin Ourika village and a visit if a farmer market in Monday then follow by a visit of an Argan oil cooperative where you get to learn on the process of making this Moroccan liquid gold- a product used in cooking and cosmetics. Afterwards, you have stops for pictures and a walk in a small village or visit a local family house, then arrive at Setti Fatma village, which is located at the base of the imposing Atlas at an altitude of approximately 1500m. Here, you are likely to be introduced to your main local guide who will take you for a rather walk/Hike if you are young or sportive (not recommend to people with health problems, they can also enjoy staying in a cafe shop or restaurant enjoying a mint tea and mountains view until the group come back from the waterfalls visit to be together again for lunch time). This is a guided walk through the lanes and pathways of the village along the predetermined and designated trail with commentary on the Berber people and their way of life. The climax of the hike is to view the seven medium waterfalls in a position where one can take time to appreciate the real natural scenario, or even take time in the chilly water coming from the mountainous regions.
After your trip, get a delicious lunch at a very nice restaurant with a view of the Ourika River. Experience passionate Moroccan food and many other flavours according to Swahili standards, giving you both the hospitality you need to get her with fantastic food.
After lunch, drive 1 hour and 15 min back to Marrakesh.
