Discover Morocco’s highlights on a 7-day journey from Marrakech through the majestic Atlas Mountains, desert dunes, and northern cities. Explore ancient kasbahs like Aït Benhaddou, stroll through palm oases, and ride camels across the golden sands of the Sahara. Visit the cultural capital of Fez with its historic medina and university, then continue to the blue-painted town of Chefchaouen nestled in the Rif Mountains. This tour offers a perfect blend of Morocco’s culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes from the south to the north.
Day 1 – Discover Marrakech’s Timeless Charm
At 09:30 am, your guide meets you at your accommodation for a full-day exploration of Marrakech. The journey begins with a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque, the city’s grand landmark, as your guide narrates the story of its construction and architectural symbolism.
Continue into the old Medina, where narrow alleys lead you through traditional souks alive with artisans, spice merchants, and vibrant colours. Visit the Bahia Palace, an exquisite example of Moorish design, surrounded by tranquil gardens of citrus and jasmine.
Next, explore the Ben Youssef Madrasa, once a prestigious Qur’anic school, to admire its intricate cedar carvings and zellij tilework.
In the afternoon, visit either the Majorelle Garden or Le Jardin Secret — two iconic green sanctuaries reflecting Marrakech’s artistic and botanical heritage. Stroll back through the lively streets toward Jemaa el-Fna Square, where storytellers, musicians, and local vendors fill the air with rhythm and scent.
After lunch, enjoy free time to explore independently or relax before returning to your accommodation by 4:00 pm. The evening is free to unwind at your riad or enjoy dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 2 – From Marrakech to Skoura Palm Oasis
Depart at 08:30 am toward Morocco’s cinematic south. Journey across the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, pausing at viewpoints overlooking Berber villages and terraced valleys.
Stop for tea and a visit to Telouet Kasbah, once an important stop on caravan routes. Continue through the Ounila Valley, then enjoy lunch in the fortified village of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its mudbrick architecture and movie appearances.
In the afternoon, head to Ouarzazate for a short panoramic stop before driving through fields of palms and ancient kasbahs to Skoura Oasis, known for its lush groves and traditional dwellings. Arrive at your guesthouse in time to watch the sunset behind the Atlas Mountains.
Day 3 – Skoura to Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, continue east through the Valley of the Thousand Kasbahs, passing picturesque oases and local villages. Visit Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs frame a crystal-clear riverbed.
Drive onward via Erfoud and Rissani, gateway to the Sahara. By afternoon, arrive at Erg Chebbi Dunes in Merzouga.
Trade your 4x4 for a camel caravan and ride across the dunes to your desert camp. As the sun sets, watch the sands shift from gold to crimson. Enjoy an evening of Berber music under a starlit sky and spend the night in a nomadic-style tent surrounded by the serenity of the Sahara.
Day 4 – From Sahara to Fez via the Middle Atlas
Wake early to witness the sunrise over the dunes — a magical moment of silence and colour. After breakfast, begin the long yet scenic drive north toward Fez.
Pass through Erfoud and Errachidia, and stop in Midelt or Zayda for lunch with views of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Continue through the vast Cedar Forests near Azrou, home to Barbary macaques, and onward to the alpine-style town of Ifrane, nicknamed “Little Switzerland.”
Admire its clean streets, European architecture, and the nearby Al Akhawayn University, one of Morocco’s premier institutions. By evening, arrive in Fez and settle into your accommodation in the heart of this historic imperial city.
Day 5 – Fes Unveiled: A Journey Through Time
Today, join your official local guide for a deep dive into the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco. Walk through the ancient Fes el-Bali medina, visiting landmarks such as the Karaouine University, Bou Inania Madrasa, and Attarine Madrasa.
See the Royal Palace gates, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and the Dar Batha Museum. Continue to the Chouara Tanneries for a panoramic view of the traditional leather-dyeing process and explore workshops of ceramic artisans.
Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch in a local restaurant before continuing to Bab Boujloud, the city’s famous blue gate. Return to your riad in the evening for rest or an optional dinner outing.
Day 6 – Fes to Chefchaouen: The Blue Gem of the Rif
After breakfast, depart north toward the Rif Mountains. En route, stop by Ouezzane and Sidi Chahed Lake for short photo breaks before reaching Chefchaouen in the afternoon.
Known as the Blue Pearl, this charming town captivates with its indigo-painted houses and peaceful medina lanes. After lunch, explore Outa el Hammam Square and its Kasbah, which houses an ethnographic museum and offers rooftop views of the town.
Spend the evening wandering freely — browse artisan shops, taste local goat cheese, or simply enjoy the relaxed mountain atmosphere.
Day 7 – Departure from Chefchaouen
After breakfast, bid farewell to the blue city. Transfer via highway to Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, or Marrakech, depending on your travel plans or flight schedule.
Your 7-day Moroccan adventure concludes with unforgettable memories of landscapes, culture, and the warm hospitality of Morocco.
