Lotherton Hall Estate

Formerly the home of the Gascoigne family, Lotherton Hall is a stunning treasure trove of arts, crafts and music.

Set in fantastic grounds, this charming Edwardian country house is surrounded by beautiful formal, wildflower and wooded grounds, as well as a red deer park and a bird garden which has one of the country's most impressive and important collections of rare and endangered species.

The Gascoignes were passionate travellers and collectors and their great sense of style is reflected in the family paintings, furnishings and works of art on display. Since the house became a country house museum these collections have grown enormously and now incude magnificent 19th and 20th century decorative art, as well as the costume and Oriental art. There is a changing programme of exhibitions of costume, arts and crafts.

Lotherton has one of the most impressive and important collections of birds in the country.

Walk through African habitat and see a magnificent collection of African birds wading, diving, nesting and flying in the largest free-flight aviary in Europe.

Meet the world's largest land-based bird, the Andean Condor and over two hundred other species of rare and endangered birds.
