Caerlaverock (Lark's Nest), one of Scotland's finest castles, is everyone's idea of a medieval fortress. The scene of two famous sieges this moated castle has a children's adventure park, two model siege engines, and nature trail in its grounds. There is a Siege Exhibition and cafe.
Visitors with a physical disability can see most of the ground floor and courtyard of the castle and a substantial part of the grounds. The visitor centre, shop and display area are wheelchair accessible. Stone carvings in the museum area and in the castle are hands-on exhibits.
A nature trail in the nearby woodlands is not suitable for those using wheelchairs or visitors with limited mobility.
