Authors, agents, booksellers and countless publishing houses from more than 40 countries descend on Mexico for the annual Guadalajara International Book Fair, one of Latin America's key literary events. Attend presentations and workshops, buy books and read, read, read.
There are special sections for young people and children and individual 'avenues' for poets, story-tellers, novelists, journalists, editors and illustrators. Top international and hispanic authors such as Gabriel García Márquez and Mexico's own Carlos Fuentes attend every year. The guest of honour in 2009 is Los Angeles.
